Nearby Offsite and XC hazards

Please be careful when going over the back at Soboba or making the crossing of the Banning pass to or from San Gorgonio. It is strongly recommended that both HG and PG pilots show extreme caution on entering this end of the Banning pass or working the North face of San Jacinto because the windmills are there for a reason; 10 mph winds at the mouth sometimes become 40-50 mph inside the pass. It is advisable to have a chase crew leading and reporting ground conditions if you are going OTB.

The Class C airspace surrounding March Air Reserve Base starts some 6 miles west of the Soboba site and Hemet Ryan Airport is approximately 6 miles southwest of the site.
